Description

The entry model of IBM eServer BladeCenter is a key component in building your BladeCenter configuration. Its innovative 7U modular design delivers the performance and reliability for today’s demanding workloads. And its flexible design can help speed time to deployment and lower the total costs of computing. The rack-optimized BladeCenter holds up to 14 hot-swap HS20 or JS20 blades or up to seven HS40 blades. Its breakthrough chassis design provides redundant and hot-swap components, helping enable maximum uptime by minimizing single points of failure. It also greatly simplifies installation and management since many components are plug-and- play.

Features

  • IBM eServer BladeCenter provides up to twice the density of comparable 1U rack-optimized solutions, saving valuable floor space and helping lower your costs. A single BladeCenter could house all your business critical applications.
  • Take advantage of its design, minimizing single points of failure. Included are the high availability midplane, a redundant and load-balanced power subsystem and hot-swap redundant cooling. Optional Ethernet redundancy is provided for network connectivity.
  • All components are plug-and-play making it easy to set up and manage the solution. The integrated design of BladeCenter means less cabling and less complexity. All components in the chassis are connected via the high availability midplane greatly reducing the guess work of how to connect individual components.
  • With the ability to run both Intel processor-based and PowerPC processor-based blades inside the same BladeCenter, running operating systems from Windows to Linux to AIX, a single BladeCenter could allow you to run your entire business from a single chassis. Simplicity of installation and management combined with legacy compatibility and extended life span for components means you can build your solution over time as your business grows.
